The duo are family pets at a nearby property but had manage to escape by eating their way through the hedge surrounding their enclosure.

Although the two apes haven't yet met, it is hoped they will when they are released into the same protected rainforest. Their rescuers hope they will start a love story of their own. The orangutans were each born at one of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation's (BOSF) pre-release islands near the Nyaru Menteng Rescue and Reintroduction Centre in the Indonesian part of Borneo.
